Exhibits are tables, rather than booths with approximately 20 – 30 tables.
It is a more low-key event, generally drawing about 400 people as well as two ACDA sponsored children’s honor choirs. The conference is held at the Hilton Albany hotel downtown (formerly the Crowne Plaza). It is co-sponsored by the New York Chapters of the ACDA, ASTA, NYSBDA, NYSCAME as well as NYSSMA. Our summer conference is currently held in Albany, NY in mid-August.
The exhibits are open all day on Friday and until 4 p.m. The winter conference always begins on the Thursday following Thanksgiving Day (i.e. Exhibitor registration for the winter conference, including showcase applications, begins in early July. The conference draws up to 2000 music educators (in-service, retired and collegiate), 890 All-State high school students (juniors & seniors), 2000+ music parents and several hundred members of groups performing at the conference.
We typically have up to 150 booths in the convention center that represent all phases of music education as well as many colleges from all over the country. Our All-State concert is held at the Eastman Theater. Our winter conference has been held in Rochester, NY for the past 10+ years and utilizes the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and the three adjoining hotels (Hyatt, Radisson and Rochester Plaza).
